I graduated from mechanic school in Phoenix, Arizona before starting my career as an alignment technician in the Les Schwab store located in Mountain Home, Idaho. I worked my way up to an assistant manager position in the Spokane, Washington store. I was later promoted to manager of the Burien, Washington store and then transferred to Manager of the Coeur d’Alene, Idaho store where I also serve as Area Manager for Northern Idaho and Montana. Today, 30 years after starting my career with Les Schwab, there are over 420 stores. Working for Les Schwab has been an unbelievable experience. The company truly values its employees and provides amazing benefits, like a generous medical, vacation, and bonus and retirement program. I started working for Les Schwab part-time during high school at Headquarters. After leaving for a few years, I came back and started working in the Distribution Center in Prineville, Oregon and over the next 3 years transferred between the Distribution Center and the Store Accounting Department at Headquarters. Ready for a change, I transferred to our Klamath Falls, Oregon store as a Sales & Service employee. After 1½ years, I transferred to Sales & Service at the Bend, Oregon Cooley Road store for another 1½ years. After 3 years in Sales & Service, I was promoted to Assistant Manager of the store located in Madras Oregon. I spent 2½ years at the Madras store before promoting to my current position as Manager of our Sellwood store located in Portland, Oregon. Having worked in several departments of the Company and in different stores has really helped me to understand what’s important as a member of management. This company has many opportunities to choose from and rewards those who show teamwork and dedication.
