Open Country M/T

The Open Country M/T is a top-of-the-line light truck/SUV tire for superior traction on mud, pavement, snow or rocks — and when there are no roads at all. An aggressive-footprint tire with deep siping, it delivers excellent wet traction, higher load-carrying capacity and extra ground clearance. Multiangle tread blocks deliver grip in all directions. An open tread pattern improves loose surface grip by clearing out debris, slush and water. The over-the-shoulder tread delivers forward traction in mud and snow and improves handling in turns.

Truck enthusiasts will be impressed with the Open Country M/T’s excellent tread life and low noise in such an aggressive traction tire. Owners say this versatile tire outperforms all others in its class on rocks, mud, sand, gravel and hard pack. They love it as a long-lasting workhorse that’s worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tire much quieter that I expected for a relatively aggressive tread. Nice stiff sidewalls, much improved vehicle handling. Excellent performance in heavy snow, and in heavy slush, I had no problems at all in tough conditions I'm much experienced with, best all-round off road - tough conditions tire I've owned. Expensive tire, but after using them a while, am glad I bought them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tires, quiet for a mud terrain tire. This is my 3rd set of Toyo, Open Country M/T tires. They wear even without getting choppy, quiet on the road, awesome off road, do well in the snow.. my only complaint, and the reason why I didn't give them 5 stars this time is because I had to warranty all 4 of them due to cracking.... Bad batch?, bad rubber? Who knows.... But I got a new set with Les Schwabs pro rated warranty....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them Really good set of rubber I can truly stand behind

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tires Moved up to 35 inch and loving it plus it made my truck higher

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional traction in loose dirt, rocks, etc.. Previously running ATs and was really having trouble maintaining traction off road. Very happy with the MT performance off road. Only real draw backs are a little extra tire hum, and the loss of 1-2 MPG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged tires for rugged roads These tires smoothly handle the rugged roads that I drive on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MT 12 ply are great this is my 2nd pair, got 45k miles on the 1st set of 12pl Toyo MT, so had to buy another. 3/4 ton Dodge Diesel is a heavy truck and to get that many miles on an MTY is impressive

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorites for years Great tire wear. Excellent traction. Okay noise. All around exceptional !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tire. This is my second set of Toyo M/Ts. The first set (285/75/16) were mounted on stock rims and lasted more than 50k miles. The stock rims were only 6.5 in wide--not a recommended width rim for the tires. A matched rim/tire combination would have resulted in even better mileage. I purchased my first set of M/Ts (285/75/16) based on reviews of many satisfied users. This review is based on my experience with the first set, and my confidence in the new set. Both sets were/are mounted on the same '02 2500HD Silverado Duramax. I purchased the Toyo M/Ts (295/70/17) in July 2020, and a set of 7.0 inch OEM rims appropriate for this wider tire. They've been great so far. Current: 5k+ miles so far on the new tires. Like the first set, mileage is reduced around 12% from OEM tire specs (245/75/16). Heavier tire and rolling resistance are the likely culprits. So what! What's your goal? These tires are stronger and better in every way. Still getting nearly 19 mpg. Sipe and align your tires, folks. It will make a big difference in durability, grip in rain and snow, and mileage. Recommendations: Purchase rims appropriate for the tire you want to install. Always have an alignment done at the time of new tire installation, and periodically as needed. Sipe your tires when purchased. It works great on the M/Ts. Rotate tires every 5k miles, or at your recommended oil service. This should include balancing. Make sure tire pressure is at recommended levels. Les Schwab has been great for all of these. My concern: Les Schwab was recently purchased. I have no idea where the company goes from here. Their in-house brand lately has been Mazama. I have no experience with the brand. My wife needs new A/T tires soon for the Tahoe. I've heard great things about the Toyo A/T 3s. I'm not sure where to go from here if Les Schwab won't be carrying the Toyo brand. At the time of this post, Les Schwab still handles the M/T tires. Love the tire and brand. Good luck with your purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tires i have purchased these before on another one of my jeeps and they are great in the snow, mud, rain and rocky road.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good off roading tire I love the look of the tire, but they are definitely more off an off roading tire than highway. I’ve only had them a short period and they have wore down quite a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product ! I bought my new Toyo tires a month ago. This is my second set on my 06 Dodge 3500. I have always been impressed with the quality of this product line.

Date published: 2020-09-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ride nice Really like the ride of the mudd tire and how quiet they are on the highway
Date published: 2020-09-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Open Country MT These are great, but large tires. They are also very expensive tires ($450+ each). However if you have a large 4x4 truck and intend to use it for going off road through snow and mud you can’t beat the investment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from tires not happy wearing very uneven and quickly I've had then rated and they still aren't holding up won't recommend
Date published: 2020-08-30
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My second set, can't beat the quality and mileage. I was happy with the first set so I bought them again. I got a little over 70,000 miles and for a 4 wheel drive that's excellent.
