• Les Schwab Employee Runs 100-Mile Ultra Marathon

On June 8, 2019, TJ Burleson lined up for a marathon that would test his physical as well as mental stamina. For years, TJ has been training for the Lumberjack Ultra Marathon, a 100-mile run to benefit Uganda Ultra Impact.

Uganda Ultra Impact is part of Children of the Father’s House, a small charity that helps ensure children in the Uganda region have a home, food, and basic essentials as well as education.

TJ and his fellow employees helped raise money for the organization through per-mile and set-amount donations of his racing efforts. TJ was able to finish the 100-mile marathon with a smile on his face.

Congratulations, TJ. We’re proud to have you on the Les Schwab team.

  • Wearing Lavender to Help Fight Cancer

Les Schwab is proud to have sponsored the Be the HOPE Walk 2019 to help support the efforts of the Western Washington Valley Girls & Guys.

The event helped raise money to support patients of all cancers by providing personalized blankets to those in cancer treatment, offering scholarships to high school seniors, helping fund mammograms for low-income families, and granting wishes to those with a terminal prognosis.

“This is a great organization,” stated Seth Worley, Les Schwab store manager. “We share many of the same core values.”

Leading up to the event, Les Schwab crews throughout Western Washington wore the color lavender to show their support.

  • Delivering Six Pickup Loads of Food for a Local Cause

In an effort to end hunger, Les Schwab stores throughout Western Washington joined together to help collect non-perishable food items. Employees and customers helped collect over 5,000 pounds of food for Food Lifeline.

The organization helps provide over 116,000 meals every year to those throughout the community.

The food collected at Les Schwab locations filled six pickup trucks and was distributed by Food Lifeline to over 300 locations, including shelters, food banks, and meal assistance programs.
