smooth ride for an a meaty tire
I generally buy touring radials for smoothness even on my 4x4, but I was having a rough day, and couldn't remember what to call them so I said "all Touraine" by mistake. I was surprised when I saw them on. My jeep actually looks like it should. I ended up going over a mountain pass within the week and found these fabulous! They're smooth, quiet and a lot more safe!

Disappointed
I have to say I am disappointed at this point. I purchased the two tires on a Friday and had to go back on Monday, because the truck vibrated at freeway speeds. Found out that tires had been balanced incorrectly. I have driven about 600 miles and the ride is better, but still feels like it vibrates abnormally at highway speeds. The tires seem to grab the road differently and will move with the different imperfections in the road. Not very pleased and will probably go back and have the balancing inspected and any other issue.

So far, so good
Shortly after getting the tires I put in a 1800 mile road trip from WA to southern UT that also involved a good bit of rough and washed-out dirt road driving. Road manners were great, tires seem pretty quiet as well. They also don’t pick up and retain small rocks as badly as my last set of Cooper tires. Will wait and see how they fair over time, but so far I am impressed. Given the cost I have high expectations.

A combination of traction, comfort and quiet.
A true surprise. I bought them expecting a slightly rougher and noisy ride but I could not be further from the truth. I cannot praise these tires enough for their all around traction and control combined with surprising comfort and quiet.

Great tires for driving in rural North Idaho
This is my second set of back Country Open Range tires from Les Schwab. The first set went beyond the mileage rating and worked perfectly during the many years I drove on them.
