The Les Schwab Foundation builds on that legacy, giving Les Schwab Tires an intentional way to support employees in need, invest in nonprofit partners and respond to critical community needs.
Standing with the Silver Rail community
On October 15, tragedy struck Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, our hometown. Our hearts are with the students, families, educators, and broader members of the community who were affected.
The Les Schwab Foundation is committing $100,000 to support recovery through the school community and trusted local nonprofits. We've taken a three-part approach to help make the greatest impact.
Supporting Those Closest to the Tragedy
$30,000 to Silver Rail Elementary School to support recovery for students, families and educators. $10,000 to Silver Rail PTO to provide additional support to the school community.
Supporting the Broader School Community
$30,000 to Bend-La Pine Schools, helping address recovery needs across the district.
Responding to Emerging Community Needs
$30,000 will go to the Oregon Community Foundation's Rapid Response Fund. This will address community needs as they emerge in the coming weeks and months, guided by local expertise.
We know it will take time and ongoing support for the community to heal. Our hope is that these commitments provide meaningful support in the months ahead.
