Acquisitions in Colorado, N.M. Cap Year of Growth for Les Schwab Tires
December 13, 2024
Bend, OR — Today’s closing of the sale of Four States Tire & Service to Les Schwab Tire Centers adds a state - New Mexico - to the Les Schwab Tires’ territory and caps a year of expansion and acquisition for one of the leading independent tire dealers in the United States.
Les Schwab Tires opened a second retail store in Bozeman, Mont., in July after it acquired and renovated Tire World in Bozeman’s Four Corners area. With this purchase, Les Schwab now has 23 stores in Montana.
Les Schwab Tires’ first store in Lehi, Utah, opened in September after the company’s purchase of My Tire Guys. With that acquisition, the company now serves customers with 31 locations in Utah.
“Our strength as a company enables us to bring convenience, America’s best tire warranty, and the world-class customer service Les Schwab Tires is known for to more and more communities while creating opportunities for our employees."
In May, Les Schwab Tires expanded its commercial presence with the acquisition of CMC Tire, which operates a retread plant in Hurricane, Utah along with 11 commercial service centers serving mining, construction and other commercial fleets in Utah, Nevada, and Colorado. CMC Tire was founded in 2014 by tire professionals Michael Morast and Tommy Servine, who continue to operate the organization using the CMC Tire brand under Les Schwab Tires’ ownership. In early December, CMC Tire purchased Grubs Tire & Service, a commercial tire dealer in Las Vegas, Nev., further expanding Les Schwab Tires’ commercial business.
Les Schwab Tires has also grown organically in 2024, entering the Upper Midwest with 13 new stores in the Dakotas and Minnesota and opening more than a dozen additional new locations in existing Les Schwab markets.
“This has been a year of truly exciting growth for us, and we’re looking forward to more expansion to come,” said Les Schwab Tires CEO Mike Broberg. “Our strength as a company enables us to bring convenience, America’s best tire warranty, and the world-class customer service Les Schwab Tires is known for to more and more communities while creating opportunities for our employees. Those priorities are central to who we are.”
The Four States Tire & Service acquisition adds four retail locations for Les Schwab Tires in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico, with stores in Farmington, N.M. and Cortez, Durango and Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
“It’s a dream come true to partner with a company that aligns so closely with our goals and values,” said President Robby Wright, of Four States Tire & Service. “Les Schwab Tires was founded on a belief in old-fashioned service, and it has a 72-year history of earning customers’ trust. Those things matter a lot to us.”
In total, Les Schwab Tires has more than 8,600 employees and offers more than 550 locations in 14 states. Continued growth is planned for 2025.
