Les Schwab Tires Expands Billings Presence With Purchase of Staley’s Tire & Automotive

Bend, OR — Les Schwab Tire Centers, one of the nation’s leading independent tire dealers, has acquired Staley’s Tire & Automotive, the companies announced. The acquisition adds two Billings locations to Les Schwab’s footprint in Montana, bringing the company’s total to three stores in the city. The expansion improves convenience and access for customers across the Billings area.

“Les Schwab Tires started in a small town in 1952, and communities like Billings have helped us get to be the company we are today,” said Matt Campbell, Area Manager. “Our commitment to customer service is grounded in our core values of honesty and dedication to the communities where we live and work. We are excited to carry forward the 40-year legacy of Staley’s Tire & Automotive and continue serving the Billings area.”

Staley’s Tire & Automotive has been a trusted name in the Billings community since 1985. The family-owned business grew to include two locations—one on South Frontage Road specializing in commercial services and another on Central Avenue focused on retail customers. Together, the two stores employ a total of 26 people.

Because safety on the road depends on more than just great tires, every time Les Schwab touches customers’ tires, its people take the time to check the surrounding components to make sure everything is squared away and it’s safe to be on the road. Offerings include brake services, alignment, shocks, oil changes, custom wheels, batteries and more. Les Schwab Tires will continue to operate the self-service eco-car wash formerly offered by Staley’s at the Frontage Rd. location, the first of this kind of offering for Les Schwab.

In preparation for the official store opening on July 28, both locations underwent light conversion updates. The Central Avenue location received a modest remodel ahead of the opening, with a full renovation planned for 2026. The South Frontage Road store also saw light upgrades, with a comprehensive remodel scheduled for September.
