Excellent Snow & Ice Tire
This is a replacement tire of the same type and is every bit a good as the originals. Excellent snow and ice tire, great grip in all conditions. Runs smooth and quiet over the barre road as well. I do not stud them, although you can.

Confidence on snow and ice.
Good snow and ice tires. I had previously loved my Hankook iPike's but Hankook doesn't make them in 22s. The Toyo Observes are great tires for handling both snow and ice, due to their studding and siping. Driving with these gives you confidence in inclement weather. Tires are responsive to minor steering adjustments and provide great traction. The tread design is great for wet weather too, especially when dealing with hydroplaning (these tires push the water out very efficiently). I rated them 4 stars rather than 5 because you do notice a little more road noise due to the siping and studs. The noise isn't overwhelming.

So far so good!
I haven’t driven in ice yet but I’ve driven in packed and plowed snow that has a fairly high water content and they seem to do just fine. No slipping. I tried gently slamming on the brakes going at a slow speed in my driveway and experienced no sliding.
