Poor customer Service. Kyle messed up & lied.
August 19 - Les Schwab on Nob Hill - Open only 10 days
2018 Benz E300 AWD -- Tire separation from Road Hazard - Asked Kyle to show me and measure tread depth. 6/32nd. Tire replacement covered under Schwab Warranty (A good deal).
Had to replace all 4 tires - Conti AS DWS06 - Kyle tried to include siping them w/o telling me the cost. Why would I sipe AS tires? - Tires would be delivered in 2-3 hours. I left. Car ready by 2:30 but I asked to come in the next morning. Now it gets interesting.
August 20 - Kyle has installed Conti Sport 2's - A Summer Only tire. Below 45 degrees you are dead. Gets irritated - tells me I authorized the 2's because I was unwilling to wait a few days for the 6's. Tells me they are an upgraded tire from the 6's. (They are not an upgrade - they are a different category - they are Summer Only, not All Season tires. He should know that and that I had been running the All Seasons.
Had I authorized this tire, why would I have immediately told him he put on the wrong tire? He didn't like that. He told me the DWS06 tire was discontinued and no longer in production. I called Tire Rack on speaker phone, in front of Kyle, and they verified the tire is still produced - he could only glare at me. Then he said he did me a favor by honoring the Road Hazard Warranty that he did not have to (Wow).
I am pretty sure he talked to the Manager (Jack) - agreed to order the 6's for $352 a tire. I knew that was also incorrect and I eventually paid $303. Tires delivered this day. Did not need the 2-3 days.
August 21 - Jack checked me in. I tried to say something about what happened, but he didn’t seem interested. So, I don't know what Kyle told him or what he believes. You would think the Manager might want to know. It was kind of a big deal to put a customer through.
I also observed an elderly man being quoted for truck tires including an up-sell for tire siping without disclosing the additional cost (about $20 per tire). Had the fellow bought, it is possible he would not have known until the siping was done and he got the bill. No way to operate if you want to earn the customer’s trust.
The store is a nice addition to tire services in West Valley and Les Schwab is a good brand. Had Kyle simply admitted his mistakes, and not lied numerous times, I would not be sending this constructive review. Just use caution and ask a lot of questions.

The Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires are hands down the best I’ve ever purchased—absolutely worth every penny. The grip is phenomenal and makes my previous tires feel like a joke in comparison. I put them on my 1980 Pro Touring Trans Am, and they completely transformed the way the car handles. I’ll definitely be buying another set for my 2002 Trans Am

Best traction I ever had.

5-Star tires, but incorrect label cost me rebate
The tires are great. The car is so much stickier on the roads than with my older set of tires. Unfortunately, Les Schwab had the front tire size coded improperly, so "Continental" did not show up in the receipt. This made me ineligible for the $110 rebate from Continental. I contacted Les Schwab, and they were unable to fix their own coding to give me a corrected receipt, so I missed the 30-day window for getting the rebate. I love the tires, but the inability of Les Schwab to fix their own error and correct their receipt is very frustrating.
